The above picture has been my cell phone wall paper for a long time. Whoever saw it asked what it was with immense curiosity.

It’s a very rare picture I must say. I took it at the Kala Ghoda Art Festival 2006 in Mumbai. On one of the 7 days of the festival there was an art exhibition on the theme of ‘crow’. Yeah crow, that silly ugly bird about which no body talks. The present pic represents the character of crows who are apparently great transmitters.

Kala Ghoda festival happens every year in Mumbai during the month of February. Everything that is creative has a place in the festival and the best thing about it is the un structured manner in which artist exhibits their work. From art, music, dance, theatre, film, literature, handicrafts, food you think of something creative and its there.

In case you didn’t knwo there are glimpses of the festival in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par.

That year I happend to by chance bump into the festival. I was there at the Caferati events. Saw some of the most respectable names in Indian Blogshpere, Peter Griffin, Annie Zaidie (can’t remember all now) But I was too much of a chicken to socialize.

This year I wanted to be there and live blog the event. They maintain an official blog called the Kala Ghoda Gazette. If you want to be a contributor there you have to write to them with your sample writing. Now they mentioned it on the blog, “If you didn’t hear back from us that means we didn’t like your writing.”

I didn’t hear from them. :-(

So that ruined my hopes of live blogging but nevertheless I just did blog.
